Why look for these brands

When a brand doesn't manage its own presence on Amazon, resellers do the selling. They fight over the same offer, the price swings, and nobody improves the listing. For anyone who serves brands, like agencies and consultants, this is the clearest lead profile there is: the demand already exists and what's missing is management.

For the brand itself, it's money left on the table: without registration, it can't use the conversion and protection tools Amazon reserves for brand owners.

What Brand Registry unlocks

According to Amazon's official program page, Brand Registry gives access to:

  • A+ Content: images, videos and comparison charts on the product detail page. Amazon reports sales lifts of up to 8% with basic A+ and up to 20% with Premium A+.
  • Brand Store: a free, dedicated storefront on Amazon.
  • Sponsored Brands and Sponsored Display: ad formats reserved for registered brands.
  • Brand Analytics: customer search and purchase data.
  • Protection: violation reporting and Project Zero against counterfeits.

To enroll, Amazon requires a registered or pending trademark with an official office (in the US, the USPTO), the brand name and logo on the product or packaging, and being the brand owner.

The signals of an unregistered brand

Since registration doesn't appear on the page, the research cross-checks signals. None of them proves anything alone; together they form a strong profile.

  • It sells well: the product is near the top of the category's Best Sellers.
  • Many sellers on the same offer: dozens of resellers compete for the Buy Box. The brand doesn't control distribution.
  • The brand doesn't sell its own product: no seller with the brand's name holds the Buy Box.
  • No A+ Content: the page only has the basic images and bullet points.
  • No Brand Store and no Sponsored Brands: the brand name doesn't lead to a storefront, and search results don't show a banner with its logo.

Be careful with the second signal. Multinational brands are usually registered and still have many resellers. A mid-sized domestic brand with 20, 30 or 40 sellers on its best-selling product is a much stronger signal.

Where these brands tend to show up

In a sweep we ran on October 7, 2026 across the best sellers of seven Amazon Brazil categories (Beauty, Pet Supplies, Kitchen, Baby, Home, Health and Sports), the pattern was clear. The numbers below come from that marketplace; check the same pattern on amazon.com before relying on it:

  • Consumables (hair care, pet litter and pads, cleaning products, supplements, diapers) concentrated best sellers from domestic brands resold by 20 to 42 sellers.
  • Small appliances and kitchenware from big brands showed controlled distribution, with 0 to 5 sellers on the offer, a sign that the brand or an authorized distributor manages the channel.
  • Multinational cleaning and personal care brands landed in the middle, with 3 to 10 sellers, and are almost certainly registered.

In other words: to find unregistered brands that sell well, start with repeat-purchase consumables.

How to confirm in 2 minutes

Before reaching out to a brand, open the best-selling product's page and check:

  1. Scrolling down, is there an A+ Content block below the product information?
  2. Does the "Visit the Store" link lead to a Brand Store or just to a search?
  3. When you search the category name, does a banner with the brand's logo appear at the top (Sponsored Brands)?
  4. In the list of other sellers, does any of them carry the brand's name?

If most answers are "no," the no-Brand-Registry signal is confirmed.

How to ask Vision for the research

In EcomVision, you don't need to open product after product. Ask Vision, for example: "Which brands sell well in Pet Supplies but seem to have no Brand Registry and are sold only by third parties?"

Vision searches the category or term for products with many sellers and no A+ Content, groups them by brand and returns, for each one, the best rank, the number of sellers, estimated revenue, whether Amazon sells it, whether the brand itself holds the Buy Box, and a confidence level. The answer always says "likely without Brand Registry," never states it as fact, and reminds you how to confirm.

Each search counts toward your plan's daily market research quota.

In the app: the ready-made strategy

Prefer to go product by product? In Product Research, in the "Discover with ready-made strategies" block, click Brands without Brand Registry. The screen applies the same logic as Vision: 100+ sales per month, 8 or more sellers and no A+ Content.

The search returns products with and without Amazon selling. If your goal is to prospect brands as clients, as an agency does, a brand that sells to Amazon itself (1P) without Brand Registry is also a good target. The filters stay visible and editable: you can pick the category, raise the minimum number of sellers, or uncheck "Amazon on the listing" if you only want reseller offers.

Brand Registry requirements and benefits follow Amazon's official page listed in the sources, read on October 7, 2026. The category sweep reflects that day's best sellers on Amazon Brazil; rankings change every day.
