Rules that look after your account while you do something else.

Ads Automation creates Amazon Ads rules from ready-made templates — protect profit, cut wasted spend, promote winners — or from scratch, condition by condition. Every automation starts in test mode: you see what it would do before you let it change your live account.

What it is and who it's for

It lives in the System → Campaign automation menu. You choose a ready-made template (protect profit, grow where it's profitable, cut wasted spend, promote winners, pause slow movers, more budget for winners, or just get an email alert), a top-of-search automation based on your ads' presence and position, a launch campaign with automatic phase transitions, or build an advanced rule from scratch — scope, condition, comparison, action, schedule and safety.

It's for people who manage campaigns every day and don't want to — or don't have time to — review every bid and every search term by hand, but still want to decide the rule and see the preview before anything happens in the live account.

The problem it solves

Adjusting bids and adding negatives by hand, every day, in every campaign, doesn't scale — and whatever goes unreviewed turns into ACoS above target or budget wasted on searches that spend and don't sell. Automation tools usually make you build every rule from scratch, with no templates, and apply the change straight to the account — with no preview step to check first.

How it works

🧩

Template or advanced rule

Start from a predefined goal and adjust the intensity, or build the rule from scratch by choosing scope, condition, action, schedule and safety.

🎯

Scope by level

The rule watches a campaign, ad group, portfolio, keyword/target, search term, product (ASIN) or placement — leave everything unchecked and it applies to all.

🗓️

Its own schedule

Choose the days of the week and the time the system starts its analysis — each rule runs at its own pace.

🧪

Always in test mode first

The automation starts by simulating, without changing anything on Amazon. You see what would happen today and only turn it on after checking.

🛡️

Configurable safety

Maximum bid change per run and an exclusion list — terms the rule never adds as negatives or harvests, like your own brand.

Example

You create the rule "Add search terms that spend without selling as negatives": condition spend > $20 with no sales, action add as negative, schedule Monday to Friday at 5 p.m., applied to all campaigns, high risk. Every weekday afternoon, the system analyzes the most reliable period available and adds the terms that met the condition as negatives — without you having to open the Amazon Ads console to check term by term.

Integrations and data used

Amazon Ads API

Bids, budgets, negative search terms and campaign/ad group status — the same actions you'd take by hand in the Ads console.

Targets by campaign/portfolio/account

Conditions like "ACoS greater than target" use the target set in Targets for the campaign, falling back to the portfolio or the account when there's no specific target.

Data synced daily

Spend, sales, ACoS and ROAS by keyword/campaign come from the synced database — the panel itself shows how current the data is.

Controls and safety

🧪

Test mode by default

Every automation starts by simulating. "See what would happen today" shows the result before you decide to create it in test mode or turn it on right away.

📏

Maximum change per run

A percentage cap limits how much a bid can move in a single round, even if the condition calls for a bigger adjustment.

🚫

Exclusion list

Protected terms (like your own brand) that the rule never adds as negatives or measures, entered one per line.

🔎

Mature data before strong actions

New campaigns without mature enough data get a suggestion instead of an automatic run — the automation doesn't act hard in the dark.

Ads Automation vs. manual adjustments

Manual adjustments

Reviewing term by term and bid by bid every day, without scale, with the risk of missing the day the wasted spend showed up.

In EcomVision

The rule runs on its own on the schedule you set, always with a preview before turning it on and a safety cap per run.

Frequently asked questions

Does the automation change my Amazon Ads account right away?

Not by default. Every automation starts in test mode — it simulates what it would do, without touching your live account, until you review the result and turn it on. Each run also has a maximum bid change per round, so no single rule can cause a sudden jump.

What's the difference between a template and an advanced rule?

A template comes with the condition and action already defined (e.g., add a search term that spends without selling as a negative) — you just pick the intensity (conservative, balanced, aggressive), the campaign scope and the schedule. An advanced rule is built from scratch: scope level, condition, comparison, action, schedule and safety — for those who want to control every detail.

How does the automation decide which data period to analyze?

The system automatically picks the period based on the volume, maturity and reliability of the campaign's data. Strong actions only apply when the campaign already has mature data — new campaigns get a suggestion instead of an automatic run.

Can I protect specific search terms or campaigns from the automation?

Yes. Every rule accepts an exclusion list — terms it never adds as negatives or touches, like your own brand — plus scope by campaign, ad group, portfolio, ASIN or placement to limit where it acts.
