EcomVision / Buy Box on Amazon Brazil: How Much It Affects Conversion

Buy Box on Amazon Brazil: How Much It Affects Conversion

By Nestor Sartoretto Published Oct 13, 2026 Data from Aug 17 to Oct 12, 2026

On Amazon Brazil, products that hold the Buy Box in less than half of their visits convert 1.4% of sessions — more than 4 times less than those with the Buy Box at 95% or higher (6.1%). Among brand-owner products, 80% sit above 95%. Medians from 1,814 products of 27 EcomVision customers, based on Amazon's official Sales and Traffic report.

Results: conversion by Buy Box band

Amazon Brazil products from Aug 17 to Oct 12, 2026, with 50 page views or more. The Buy Box percentage is the share of page views in which the seller's offer was featured; conversion is units sold ÷ sessions. Median of the products in each band.

Product's Buy BoxProducts (customers)Median conversion
95% to 100%1,449 (24)6.1%
80% to 95%76 (11)5.8%
50% to 80%80 (10)3.7%
Below 50%209 (12)1.4%

What it shows: losing a little Buy Box barely changes conversion (6.1% → 5.8%). Below 80% it falls fast, and below 50% it sits at less than a quarter of the conversion of products that have the Buy Box almost all the time.

How many products have the Buy Box

Product's Buy BoxShare of products
95% to 100%79.9%
80% to 95%4.2%
50% to 80%4.4%
Below 50%11.5%

The sample is made of brand owners, who are often the only seller of the product — which is why most have the Buy Box almost all the time. Even so, 1 in 9 products goes without it for most visits.

What to do with this

  • Check your percentage: the step-by-step is in how to know if you have the Buy Box.
  • Below 80%: before increasing ad spend, win the Buy Box back — advertising a product without it drives clicks that don't convert.
  • Common causes: another seller with a lower price, zero stock, a longer delivery time than the competition, or account performance metrics below the required level.
  • Track it every day: EcomVision's Buy Box shows who holds the featured offer and alerts you when you lose it.

Where the data comes from and how it's calculated

  1. Source: Amazon's Sales and Traffic report (Data Kiosk, by product and by day), from Amazon Brazil accounts connected to EcomVision.
  2. Period: Aug 17 to Oct 12, 2026.
  3. Product's Buy Box: daily average of the Buy Box percentage, weighted by each day's page views.
  4. Product's conversion: units sold ÷ sessions over the period.
  5. Minimum volume: 50 page views in the period.
  6. Distribution: median conversion in each band; a band is published only with 10 customers or more.

No account, brand or product is identified — only the distribution is published.

What these numbers don't show

  • Association, not an isolated cause. Products without the Buy Box often also have a higher price or irregular stock; the low conversion comes from the whole picture.
  • The sample is brand owners. Resellers who compete for the Buy Box with many sellers tend to have lower percentages.
  • Two months of data. Collection of this report began in August 2026; the next edition will cover a longer period and the Black Friday cut.
  • Doesn't split by category. It will, once each category has 10 customers.

Frequently asked questions

How much does the Buy Box influence sales on Amazon?

In EcomVision's study (1,814 products from 27 customers on Amazon Brazil, Aug 17 to Oct 12, 2026), products with a Buy Box below 50% convert 1.4% of sessions, versus 6.1% for those at 95% or higher.

What Buy Box percentage is good?

Above 95% is normal among brand-owner products: 79.9% of the products in the sample are in that band. Between 80% and 95% conversion barely drops (5.8%); below 80% it falls fast.

How many products lose the Buy Box?

In the sample, 11.5% of products had the Buy Box in less than half of their page views — 1 in 9.

Is it worth advertising a product without the Buy Box?

Generally not: without the featured offer, the ad click converts far less. Win the Buy Box back first.

Where does the data come from?

From Amazon's Sales and Traffic report (Data Kiosk), by product and by day, from Amazon Brazil accounts connected to EcomVision. Aggregated data only: no account, brand or product is identified.
