Why combine the two analyses

Validate product ideas lives in US Seller Central, inside Product Opportunity Explorer. You describe the concept and Amazon returns signals, recommendations, similar products, and what customers praise and complain about, based on data only Amazon has.

EcomVision's Product Validation answers the other half of the question: can you get in, and do the numbers work? It shows whether Amazon takes the Buy Box, how concentrated the niche is in a few brands, and your margin with your account's real fees.

US only: Amazon offers the product idea validator only in US Seller Central. In other marketplaces, EcomVision's Product Validation runs the validation on its own, without the report.

How to download the report in US Seller Central

  1. In Seller Central, open Growth › Product Opportunity Explorer and go to Validate product ideas.
  2. Describe the concept: title, category, target price, description and bullet points. These are the same fields as in EcomVision's Product Validation, so you can paste the same text into both.
  3. Open the result and click Download. Your browser downloads a ZIP file. No need to open or unzip it.

To create an analysis there, your user needs edit permission for Product Opportunity Explorer (under User Permissions). View-only isn't enough.

How to import the ZIP into EcomVision

  1. Open Product Research › Product Validation and choose the US marketplace.
  2. Open Optional: import Amazon's validator report (ZIP) and click Import Amazon report (ZIP).
  3. Choose the downloaded ZIP. The report shows up in the Amazon validator report (US) list, with the concept and the simulation date.
  4. Click View to read Amazon's analysis, or Validate to fill in the concept and run EcomVision's analysis with Amazon's alongside it.

Importing doesn't use your monthly simulation quota. Only Run analysis counts.

How to read the Amazon validator view

In the result, the Amazon validator view block shows what Amazon said about the concept, exactly as Amazon generated it:

  • Signals: competitive position, feature readiness and customer fit, each with its reason.
  • Amazon's recommendations: what to adjust in price, features or the listing.
  • Similar products: brand, average price, ratings, launch date and offers.
  • Features vs. competitors: each feature of your concept with its impact and status (on par, better or worse).
  • What customers love and complain about: with the share of reviews and whether your concept addresses it.
  • Seasonality: clicks per month across the year.
  • Demographic profile: shopper age range. This data only exists in Amazon's report; no integration delivers it.

What each side shows

Right below Amazon's view come EcomVision's blocks: verdict, market, the numbers, and the best-selling similar competitors.
