What changed in Vision

We read Amazon's official Seller Central Help for the Amazon Brazil marketplace, starting from the Category, product and listing restrictions page and following its links. We read 249 pages on October 12, 2026. Of those, 145 rule pages became 154 documents in Vision's knowledge base.

Topics range from electronics, lithium batteries, cosmetics, supplements and baby products to account and catalog rules, such as brand authorization letters, condition guidelines and listing quality. Each document lists what's allowed, what's prohibited and the requirements, plus a link to the official page it came from.

Selling on amazon.com? Many restriction categories are similar across marketplaces, but requirements, regulators and documents differ by country. Vision's restrictions knowledge base is currently built from Amazon Brazil's Help, so always confirm US rules in your own Seller Central (amazon.com) Help pages.

What you can ask

Ask the way you'd ask a coworker. A few examples and what Vision answers:

  • “Can I sell a cell phone without an IMEI?” No. “Cell phones without an IMEI” are on the Electronics prohibited list, and the invoice must show each device's IMEI.
  • “List the prohibited products in Electronics.” Vision brings the page's full list: cell phone, GPS and Wi-Fi jammers; unauthorized cable or satellite TV descramblers; cell phone unlocking devices; products with removed or altered serial numbers; cylindrical lithium-ion batteries of types 14500, 16340, 18650, 20700, 21700 and 26650; among others.
  • “Which categories require approval?” Vision explains that a restriction can apply to an ASIN, a brand, a brand within a category, a category or a subcategory, and that the same product may require several approvals.
  • “What documents do I need to request approval?” The usual ones: purchase invoices, clear photos of every side of the product, a brand authorization letter (if applicable) and safety certifications (when required).
  • “What do I need to sell lithium batteries?” Rechargeable lithium batteries require a report from an accredited lab under IEC 62133-2 or IEC 62619, plus the UN 38.3 report and the battery test summary (BTS). A document showing a “Fail” result or a blank field is not accepted.
  • “Can I sell a beaded pacifier clip?” No. Beaded clips and chains and mushroom-shaped teethers or pacifiers are prohibited.
  • “Does my product need regulatory approval?” In the Brazil Help, Vision explains the local regulators' requirements (for example, radio-frequency devices need telecom certification with the number shown on the listing, and unregistered cosmetics are prohibited). In the US, the general equivalents are agencies such as the FCC (radio-frequency devices), the CPSC (consumer and children's product safety) and the FDA (cosmetics, supplements, food) — check Amazon.com's Help for exactly what Amazon requires.
  • “What happens if I sell a restricted product?” Vision lists the consequences Amazon describes (see below).

Example answer

The official approval flow

When a product requires approval, Vision explains the official path in Seller Central:

  1. Open Add Products and search for the product.
  2. Check the status: the product can't be listed, you can Sell this product (no approval needed), or you see Apply to sell (approval required). Show limitations displays the requirements.
  3. Request approval, fill out the form and submit the documents: purchase invoices, photos of every side, a brand authorization letter and certifications, when they apply.
  4. Wait for the review — the Brazil Help states 2 to 7 business days — and track it under Selling applications.

If you see the message “Your account doesn't qualify”, you can't sell the product or appeal, and Support won't provide further details.

What happens with restricted products

According to the official Help, selling a restricted product can lead to:

  • suspension or termination of selling privileges;
  • destruction of inventory in fulfillment centers without reimbursement, or return of the inventory;
  • termination of the business relationship and permanent withholding of payments;
  • civil and criminal action, in the case of illegal or unsafe products.

A detail that catches many sellers: setting a restricted product's listing to inactive does not make it compliant. If the product was flagged by mistake, the path is to close the listing and submit an appeal to Support.

Limits of the answer

Important: Vision summarizes Amazon's rules as they appeared in Amazon Brazil's official Seller Central Help on October 12, 2026. This is not legal advice. Amazon can change its rules at any time, and rules differ by marketplace; always confirm on the official page Vision cites and in Seller Central, under Add Products.

As always, Vision explains and recommends; you are the one who decides and submits. See also how Vision teaches any screen in the app step by step.
